Surround with Live Value?

Hello,

I've been using the KX drivers for a while now, and I think they're an excellent alternative to the original ones. I will most certainly start using these drivers full time when the rear output issue with the SB0220 cards is fixed. I just have a few questions regarding the KX drivers and the Live cards:

I own two Live cards, one Live Value (CT4670) and one Live 5.1 (SB0220). I am planning on selling one of these cards, and i mostly favour the surround sound capabilities of the Live 5.1 . Still, the Live Value has the I2S codec that the SB0220 lacks.

The Value's documentation states that it lacks the center/sub outputs in the s/pdif connector, and they don't seem to be available with the original drivers. Are the center/sub outputs available with the KX drivers, or are they simply non-existent on the Live Value cards? If they can be used with the KX drivers, will the Live Value have the same capabilities as the Live 5.1 (Dolby Digital, surround sound, etc.)?

every possible in and out is available to kX, if you use a digital connector you can most definately use as many outputs as the card provides - for more info try here .

use both cards, especially for recording - you can use the inputs of one card and send them to the other vis digital to bypass the ac-97 limitation

a setup with two cards sounds interesting. By digital, do you mean through the pci bus, or do i hook them up via internal connectors?
