Mic problem (Ventrilo)

Alright, let me tell you first that I've read all the microphone related threads, and guides I've been able to find from kx page and this forum.

I've unmuted and checked everything in the guide and it doesn't work.

My Ventrilo gives me an error when trying to setup the mic: InputFindVOlFader failed (-1) for non-Mux based driver.

I've made my own setup for DSP (simple and max quality for sound playback)

I have FXBus connecting my stereo lines to xrouting and those lines go to surrounder and then to epilog. I have a 2.0 setup.

Then I have my prolog directly connected to epilog, prologs AC97 left is connected to RecL and AC97 right to RecR.

Ventrilo does have a monitor, which monitors the level of input coming from the mic and it registers a definite increase when I try to speak, so the sound IS going through. The problem is nothing works.

I love these drivers and I really need the mic to work :/

And I'm also sure the mic works, since it worked a few days ago with creative drivers.

My soundcard is SB Live player 5.1

System Specs

well if the soudn is reaching the program then the issue most likely lies with the program, not kX

You might be right. I checked the error code I got from Ventrilo and it means the codec failed.

It might be possible that uninstalling the creative drivers and installing the kX drivers uninstalled the codec I need for Ventrilo sound. That is Microsoft GSM 6.10 Audio CODEC. I'm at work now and will try to reinstall the codec. I hope the problem is that simple.

Yeah it all works now. Apparently the error message was only a warning that I can't change the volume settings through Ventrilo. But I can change the mic volume in kX mixer.

kX Project rules.
