Re: Noise problem with Audigy 2 ZS and 3537
ok i gonna get it and install it right now.
is there anything i need to adjust from its default settings? the only settings i really need are that 24/48 and line1, line2 and line3 ins and front l+r out so i dont need all the inputs and outputs that it has. the actually effects i dont (think) i need do i? the affects i use from plugins/vsts dont use the actual hardware on the sound card does it? i mean its all done in software that is why when you use em you will get more latency or drop outs if you dont have really good computer? i dont know what do you suggest i should set the settings to...to achieve what i have told you its going to be used for so far? |

Re: Noise problem with Audigy 2 ZS and 3537
i just removed all drivers including asio, creative, kx and then used drivercleaner (not the new one) to remove all traces
i then installed kxdriver and disabled the creative gameport everything is default and i havent touched anything when i try and play an mp3 i get no sound... uh O here we go ![]() i swapped front and rear and have sound but i started fooling with alot of the settings... mic was always on even at desktop so i muted line-in, gain and mic. need to find which one i use so when i hit record in a DAW it unmutes it. wow this is so different then most driver interfaces for sound cards that i have seen. Ableton 1/2 = kX ASIO 0/1 Ableton 2/3 = kX ASIO 2/3 etc.. You can Adjust kX 'Ins and Outs' page until you hear the input...Make note of how kX calls it. AC97 stuff - is the on-card audio stuff - all the external IO box is *not* ac97. (Mic / Line In, Analog CD, TAD, Aux) the AC97 has its own page in kX mixer. Try not confuse those inputs with the others on the Ins & Outs Page... AC97 is sorta special - you see AC97 and maybe AC97-2 on the Ins and Outs Page - for now, pay no attention to the AC97 page. For now, you can just adjust all the levels on the kX mixer ins and outs page to get aquainted to their lables - (Line 3 may be called AUX 2 in kX - for instance) Quote:

Re: Noise problem with Audigy 2 ZS and 3537
I'll make some pics to get you started with the kX DSP - if you decide to use kX- thats where the real fun is (fun = power + complexity) - the learning curve is worth it.
you can look at the kX help file... kX DSP/kX DSP guide for general info on what you see in the dsp applet. |

If kX is too noisy you may need to revert to using CL ASIO (so you have more than 1 input) It seems you have done what needs to be done to at least hear the inputs, and if its noisy, its probably unacceptable. You would just follow the same set up procedure for CL ASIO (Activate all the available INS and OUTS on the Driver Tab. Quote:
Its just new software - and your model sound card seems to have some issues with kX that I dont have. |

Re: Noise problem with Audigy 2 ZS and 3537
Known problem. I have the same problem, allegedly it is because of a lack of proper documentation how to initialize line in and mic in inputs.
Sometimes, the card appears to initialize correctly, and the inputs are silent. Removing the card from the device manager and rebooting the PC is the only workaround known at this time. |

Re : Noise problem with Audigy 2 ZS and 3537
* back to original post *
I experience the same noise issue with Audigy 4 pro and its hub. As soon as I enable line 2, I get a huge noise (-45db). If I unplug the power supply of the hub (firewire) then replug, the noise level drops to a far more reasonable level. But I can't use the volume knob anymore. (Mustafa technic) I don't know what's going wrong with the external hub init but it is clear that the hub is capable of low noise and there is no noise pb with CL drivers. Maybe someone could throw a bug report? |

Re: Noise problem with Audigy 2 ZS and 3537
** BUMP **
Hi guys, im new to the kX drivers and have just experienced the infamous line in noise issue on the Audigy 2 ZS Plat Pro..... Sorry to bump an old topic but didnt want to start ANOTHER thread just to ask the same old question.... Was just wondering if anyone has been able to find a proper solution as this seems to be the latest thread and its gets a bit off track in the later posts...the problem on my system only happens occasionally at the moment so I wasnt sure if someone has tried to address the issue in kX 3550, as the posts in this thread relate to prior versions.. Im running an SB0360 with external hub with kX 3550. Regards Rob |

Re: Noise problem with Audigy 2 ZS and 3537
Hello, I have the same problem with noise @~-45db when using the mic input on my external hub. Any chance to solve that?
My current setup: KX 3545, SB0360 (Audigy2 Platinum Pro) with external I/O hub, WinXP 32bit |

Re : Noise problem with Audigy 2 ZS and 3537
Wow, this thread is quite 7 years old now. And the issue is still the same (kx 3551).
Let me just add a little workaround for those who want to record both analog and midi inputs. The only way we've found so far to reduce the analog input noise on the external hub was to unplug then replug the hub. This works great, but doing this will also disable midi (no more input or output). The idea is, when the hub has been reconnected and the noise is back to a normal level (around -90dB), just reinit the card parameters (kx config). It will enable the midi again but will destroy the current settings. Then, just reload your settings. It doesn't take long to do and it is only to be done once a boot, and only if you need both midi and low noise on the external hub analog inputs. Let's hope that one day, CL will help us init those external hubs properly. |
