Audigy 2 plat ex recording quality

Hi there, just wondering whether one of the more knowlegeable folks can help clear up my misunderstanding. I've been looking for information about the recording quality of the audigy 2 platinum ex and have been hit by quite a bit of contradictory reports. Just wanted to know if anyone knows the deal.

On the creative site it says it can do recording up to 24/96. But one review says its asio only up to 16/48. The dsp is 32 bit only as well. So the question is if i were to record on an audigy 2 plat ex, what is the conversion rate for the analog to digital convertors? Will recording from a line input result in the appropriate project settings of 24/48 or is it actually adc conversion, upsampled to 32 bit if through the dsp ( assuming it's routed ) and then 16/48 to asio in then upsampled to 24/48 into the project?
