Greets to all in kx land,I have been using kx aboout two years without any problems at all until yesterday,i installed kx on a sb live 5.1 on win 98 se,i have had kx installed on this same comp.(hp vectra vli8,450mhz,p-3,128mbram) with no problems a year ago,using the same kx package 3534,reinstalled drivers yesterday but no sound,device manager says everything is o.k,drivers install fine,still no sound,all sliders unmuted and turned up in kx mixer,media properties correct,did clean install of win 98se,reinstalled kx(also moved card around trying all pci slots)still i get no sound not even a hiss,tried this same routine several times but still no luck.
The only thing that has changed as far as hardware is concerned is-went from 2gig to 12gig hd,added modem,added cdr,could any of these things or somthing else be causing conflicts with kx or the sb 5.1(installed creative drivers to make sure it wasnt the card,creative drivers worked fine),everthing on the tram seems to be in order,this has got me pulling my fuckin hair out(whats left of it)if anyone has any suggestions your input is sorely needed-thankauggie

Hmmm..interesting problem...ok where I would start for now is remove Kx..try stock creative drivers just to see if you can get sound..any sound..then if you can then have a sigh of relief that your sord isn't shot...then work from there....hope that helps..

as stated in original post creative drivers work,what gets me is Ive had kx on this same card and same comp. several times everything is in order but no ones home,although vyd. vxd. was giving me problems on install it eventually installed,usally kx generic installs when windows asks for drivers,maybe i need to do a manuall install-auggie

try installing version 3534F, then 3537/3538a over the top
