EMU APS Problem recording from SPDIF in

I'm running the KX driver on WinXP. I can't record from the SPDIF input (D1) on the EMU APS card (nothing records). I have tried using both Cakewalk and Sound Forge to record. I tried to record an Mp3 that was on the computer to test them, and both applications tested fine for that. The input I'm attempting to record is a microphone through an analog preamp and a AD/DA converter. I tested this chain by connecting to SPDIF input of my outboard audio CD recorder and prepping it to record. The signal comes through loud and clear.

I had to rewire the DSP from Timbre to Epilog in order to get SPDIF output. Is there a similar rewiring that needs to be done to allow SPDIF input?

As long as I am posting this, is there an introductory, tutorial document for the DSP panel? Thanks in advance for your help.
