crazy noise levels on audigy 2 zs platinum pro line2-in

Hi there..

just figured out what this dsp thing is all about..however, i'm currently getting a massive 46db noise on line-2 in (the card is audigy 2 zs platinum pro - this has the external I/O hub) I've tried the following 2 configurations

(cleared the dsp completely first)

1)
src - line2 In --> peak (default mixer settings)
peak meter reads 46db
-------------------
2)
prolog line 2 left --> peak_l
prolog line 2 right --> peak_r

mixer settings: ins 'n' outs: line 2 unmuted and set to 12: peak meter reads 34db!!
-------------------

line2-in under creative drivers was ok.
according to the documentation with the card i should get 108 or something (although im sure this is unrealistic)

Regards,

Billy_skills

??? Same Problem..

Hi Billy! I'm facing the same crazy peak-level since two weeks now. Just on the LINE2 - channel - the peak's jumping between -30dB and -42dB.

I've reinstalled 3534f twice, nothing changed...

Where did you elect replacing dll s? Did you reinstall the drivers over the existing ones?
Which kx-version did you use? Could you - or anyone else who knows s.th.- please try to remember and explain in detail?

hopeful regards,
freechess

Use newer driver release! 3534f is quite old.

I agree with travelrec, 3534 is quite old but I'm curious, you say this started 2 weeks ago.... was it not doing this before? if so what did you change two weeks ago?

I listened to the mp3 and from that it could be lots of things, even a hardware issue.... not saying it is that, just that the mp3 doesn't give me any clues. Why not go with 3539 or newer anyways with the system you have and see if it makes any difference.

Yeah you have to do an uninstall of what you have, reboot, don't let windows install the "found new hardware" and go with 3540 or 3541..... unless there is a reason to stick with 34f..... I think most of the guys will easier handle support questions with the newer drivers.

I'm no pro at this but I have 3 different systems running 3539 and nothing like this is happening...... most idle at less than -80db with open ended inputs,(meaning unconnected) my audigy 4 idles at -104 db with a cord laying on the desktop ..... Nice!

I only use 3539 because one system is an older Dell, 700mz PIII running Win2K with a SB0220 and it balks at 3541.... I run the same driver on all three just to save my "gray matter"

Peace,
Tyrsonswood

Maybe a shot in the dark, but if there is something connected to the Line in that is powered from another electrical outlet, it sorta sounds like a ground loop problem, try making sure ALL electrical equipment is plugged in to same outlet (maybe use a power strip to supply AC power for PC and what ever is connected to line input)

?? worth a try if convenient enough ??

Yes, this is a known issue with A2ZS Platinum Pro models.
