I am new on this forum and i didn't know kx before today...

However , i had many pb with creative drivers on my sblive platinum 5.1 : No spdif out in dolby digital .... etc...

I want to try Kx drivers but i would like to know if i weel keep the mic effects (eax:voice male to female..etc...) because i like that.

It is the only thing i want to keep ..can you answer me ?

I'm not sure about how that 'voice male to female' works but probably is based on a 'pitch shift' effect, which is included in kX. Anyway these 'transexuals' effects never works the way their names say. It is more complicated by now...

ah, yes, male to female , I remeber those and there were a bunch of other cool presets for Creative's effects (which are of very high quality btw).

You will lose all of these, but kX can offer an alternative for each Creative effect. The only problem for you will be to get along with setting them up. It's a bit more professional than with Creative's drivers .

You'll have any effect you want but you have to set them..patch them and configure them....if that is your major hang up with going over to kx..I would say get over it...

I tried kx drivers...

But i didn't succeed to use it

1- i didn't succed to enable ac3 spdif out , my sb live is plugged to a amplifier sony Dolby digital.
With creative drivers ,it was ok : i could disable "decoder ac3" but i didn't found it on kx drivers

2- I didn't succeed to apply effects on my voice .

This drivers are more difficult to use than creative drivers.

I am going to read all the help file to try to use it but if i can't i reinstall my creative drivers.Maybe it is a bit difficult for me

Why must i keep kx drivers ? Is it only for musicians or can i resolve a lot of pb with it ? (With creative drievrs, i must put an old file "cstatic" (i think) instead of my drivers to my ac3 out fonction correctly.

1. sblive does not have ac-3 passthrough or decode atm
2. dsp routing takes time to master

Can you please be more specific and give more info....If you like creative Drivers then stick with them...no one is saying you MUST use Kx..it's just we all use them because they are good drivers.

I would like to be more specific but i'm french and it's a bit diificult ....

In fact , i would like to change my sblive drivers beacause i had some pb and i think it was a driver's pb:

One year's ago , i bought my sblibe platinum 5.1 .I plugged it to my sony amplifier dolby digital (spdif, one cable) .it wasn't ok and it was a driver's pb : with search on the net , i found that the file "Cstatic.dat" was the pb , and a man sent me a good file , older .... then , AC3 was ok : 3/2 was diplayed on my sony amplifier .

Then, i had a capture pb four month ago (only when i captured with audio)i had via chipset and i rode that there was a pb between via chipset and creative drivers....:i didn't resolve it but but i bought a new mother board : A7n8X deluxe .

Now , i have a latence pb with the software " Teamspeak" .
On the Team speak forum , i rode (to read) there was pbs with creative drivers and i found the Kx link

It why i would try this drivers but i liked well the creative drivers GUI and i don't succeed to enable my spdif ac3(with my sony amplifier/receiver) and ther isn't voice effects presets

But if kx driver can resolve my pb ......

Do you think that it can resolve my pb ?
