I want to buy an audigy 2 sundblaster but I don't know if it's worth.
Are there many improvements in the emu-10k2 chip? More resources? |

10k2 has more resouces, and the cards that use this chip have the ability to use 2 stereo inputs with the extra ADC on board

Actually 10k2 doubles 10k1's DSP resources, so if you are using much DSP effects it's great improvement...

Audigy 1 & 2 Cards also have better codecs, thus better overall sound and SNR.

As far as I have found, Line In/Mic In/CD/TAD and AUX all go through AC97, and I haven't found other analog inputs... Could you point me in the right direction for more information about it, cause I could really use a second analog input. (I have an SB Audigy2 Value) |

>>that not counting the emu aps wich is a 10k1 but still has better converters
Of course. You are right. I might add, a SBLive (also 10k1) + LiveDrive uses better codecs also. /LeMury |

On the site of the store where I bought it, it just says 'SB Audigy 2 + IEEE1394 (Bulk) On the creative site I see that there also is a SB Audigy2 Value ( http://www.soundblaster.com/products/audigy2value/ ) It's just an Audigy2 withouth the external box I guess. It's also a lot cheaper (about EUR80) and thanks to this post I have successfully used Line In and Mic In as seperate channels! I was almost thinking I had to buy a Platinum version, but now I saved myself quite some money! I just don't completely understand why it isn't default this way, or why it isn't documented better. |
