Settings not remembered
Hello,
Dirver works! But, every time I reboot I have to "Reset Device Settings", or else there is no sound. The settings are not being remembered. I have XP Home and Audigy 2. The drivers were installed using an administrator account, and are being used by the same accout. Tried searching the forums, and the closest answer I found was "This has been discussed before. Search the forums". Thanks |

Once you have sound, save your settings in a folder with a chosen name. It works for me. Whatever setting I saved last, and I have many, that's always the one that loads on boot-up. Make sure you tick all the boxes. Maybe it'll work. I'm just guessing.

Hi!
More system specs please! Where are your speakers? Front/Rear? Swap function on/off, 5.1 mode activated, hardware acceleration etc. Tell us more if you want detailed and successfull help. |

kX Help>Appendix C: Command Line Reference: kxmixer.exe options:
--startup, Performs startup sequence: restores kX settings form the registry. So in startup: ".../kxmixer.exe --startup". |

Yes okay, but this is a standard setting after installation. So if kX-mixer starts up with every windows start it should remember it´s own settings. There were problems with 3533 and 3534 drivers, but no more with the new ones.

Sorry for bumping this thread...but are you sure that this problem has no solution?
I mean elegant solution ![]() I found it VERY strange...hm. First - I have WinXP Pro, with kX 3534f. I set up some DSP effects, random ones, just for testing. After reboot - the DSP shows the default one, NOT the one I made before rebooting. Next experiment: I cleared DSP, created some effects, and EXIT kX Mixer from tray. After starting it manually, or rebooting - the new DSP is there. Last experiment: again cleared DSP, throw some effects there and SAVED the DSP settings in file. After rebooting - of course, the default DSP is here. Then I clicked on the saved settings, they load nice. After reboot - my settings are there. So, at last my conclusions is: somehow, when OS shuts down, the kX mixer does not exit correctly, so DSP settings (current ones) are not saved in registry. Someone finds a solution? |

This also happens to me with 3534f, XP Pro, but not always. I may be starting a myth here but it seems to me, If I create a DSP and save it as ABC.kx, and I leave it alone, it will load up on next reboot. If I then add a plugin to ABC.kx and save it over the existing one, on next reboot the default DSP might or might not show up in its place. There doesn't seem to be much consistency to it.

somehow kX Mixer quits too fast on reboot, or WinXP forces this...don't exactly know.
BUT for sure - if you close kX Mixer manually (from tray) it saves all settings correctly in the registry. And next time system boots (or if you manually start kX Mixer) - your DSP is there. There is something even more strange...it seems that ALL other settings are saved correctly on system reboot, except DSP... |
