APS and Service Pack2
Hi Folks,
I`m a jobbing musician using the APS with Emu drivers (98 and XP) and Cubase SX. Four years on and I`ve never managed to iron out all the bugs - no updates or tech support. I was about the bin the APS and buy something less troublesome when I found the excellent KX drivers. I don`t get it yet but I`m chewing my way through the tutorials. My problem is this: Even from a virgin boot (f-disk and format) I cant get Sevice Pack2 in. Is this to do with the APS card? Would removing the APS and enabling the AC97 in bios help to get this service pack in? Thanks in advance for any help. |

I don't know matthesax. Why don't you try it? just unplug it and see what happens. It cannot damage your system. Anyway I don't think you need to enable the AC97 in bios to check it. I've got some problems trying to install some programs after SP2, not before. Did you install APS drivers before SP2? Also think that some illegal WinXPs cannot be updated to SP2 due to serial number issues (I don't mean this is your case) |

Matthesax : I'm running the same system, and I have no problem.
So i don't think sp2 installation is related to your EmuAPS (nor kx).

THANKS NANDO AND FVI,
Its nice to cross a few things off the list! I suspect that the problem is related to a recurring minidump system error. Thanks again |
