I've heard of the KX drivers before but I hear that they are not good for gaming and they do not support EAX...I use my system for a little of everything from gaming to watching DVD's to listening to music...is it worth it to try these drivers and would they be 100% compatible with my SoundBlaster Audigy Gamer sound card??...would I be gaining any significant improvement in overall sound quality etc?

are the 5.10.0.3537 drivers the latest official stable release??

well they dont support EAX, but sound is just great! best for music/dvd and quite good in games, because the bass is much better! try call of duty or other games with creative's and kx drivers. its not like playing war but beeing there^^
eax would be fine but i wont go back to creative's driver!
i use kx for dvd, music and many games just like you will soon^^

3538c seems to be very stable for now... But they do contain few undocumented options souch as:

1. in AC97 page, there's AC97 <-> I2S Routing Mode button, yes the green one, nothing happends when this button is clicked?!? Eugene, what is this?

2. AC97 Analog Recordin Gain... I don't think i've seen this one before... It has great functionality, & when you mute this one, you can get lower noise if using PHILIPS ADC through AC97 2...

3. 24/96 Router... I understand you can route HQ device to SPDIF / I2S outputs from here, but WHAT are these 4/5, 6/7, 7/8 & hph stand for?!? Additional outputs? Or inputs? Anybody knows?

The 'Invalid handler' messages happened to me also, but I'm not sure if I can reproduce them (will try and post results). But as it seems the messages have no effect on the instalation - after install the things work

Well, except the Audigy2 Value (SB0400) which doesn't give any sound out of it. If I'm correct it does give a "bump" (that sounds like a heartbeat) out of it when the driver is started (or a manual "Reset Device Settings" is done).

I've added initial support for a2 value. if you have one and it is not working, let's try to investigate it (in a separate thread, please call it 'audigy2 value - 3538c')

Well, so far so good... I Like the new ASIO setup window .

Only weird thing that happened was that all of a sudden the kxmixer.exe task shut down when I right-clicked on one of two effects I had opened in the taskbar (so I could exit it; yes, I clicked in the windows task-bar). When I reopened the kX mixer both windows reappeared .

BTW, Samir, the Analog gain is old if you mean the top-right gain with the red circle, which is translated into german as 'analog recording amplifier'? If you mean something different then I don't know...

nakamichi has a little shameless behaviour in the past

I want just one more feature:
Have you been in a situation when your PC mouse was gone or broken and you've been left with just your keyboard? You wanted to go to the kX Mixer, you activated it and...you could open the mixer, but you could not change anything
I want to be able to get access to every slider, menu and parameter with only a keyboard.

TAB doesn't work in the mixer where the sliders are,and I can't go to the analyzer and the peak meter without a mouse duh!

I got the same thing when installing 38g, so to test I uninstalled them and re-installed 38c again, got the same again followed by 38g same again, I get get exactly 10 messsages saying DWORD CONFIG - invalid handler and have to click okay.

What sort of information do you need? could it be related to microsofts .net framework i have installed? apart from those messages during installation drivers seem to work fine!

this has happened occasionalyl to me

if you have windows open when you save the DSP setting, chances are they will re-appear on load (btw this hasn't happened with any version since 3538a for me yet)

this is not a 'bug', but a 'feature'
kX Mixer should restore window placements when saving/restoring settings

think twice if you ever need to upgrade. this is a development release, not for generic public. if you don't know what 'debug' means, if you don't know what 'asio' means, if you mainly play EAX games or watch DVDs -- DO NOT INSTALL 3538c!..
I have a question: I use the KX drivers mainly for games and I use the HpSp plugin to get positional sound through headphones. I know quite a lot about computers, so I am willing to try the new drivers and accept that I may have problems with them due to bugs. Will those 3 bug fixes at the top of the quoted text improve positional sound in games that support it?
