mmm ok the decoders can be replaced with AC-3 filter *i think*
and EAX was never 24/96. You can still use 24/96 when you use the "Wave HQ" device

why cant u just use stereo mix for front and rear channels, THEN you will have the front and rear sound going to the crossover hense front and rear bass

I dont think its a good idea to collect signal from front and rear channel in the same time because rear speakers have sometimes some delay or special effects and they signal will be different than front signal. That may cause that basse will be strange or not correct...
Maybe better is collect signal for sub from source where it is not yet divided into parts for each speaker in 5.1 and there is no special effects or changes made for for this signal yet (I mean everything before surrounder) ? |

I agree, however if he is getting 5.1 to begin with (the game outputs it that way to the soundcard) I dont see what other option than using a few stereo mix's to combine it...

I noticed that soundfont looping was worse with new Creative drivers/kX drivers/APSLive drivers than old creative drivers(the one with the black mixer). Especially when i loop only one wavelength and i play high notes. I made my own samples using a self-made wave genration program. The sounds have a length of only 1 wavelength. And with the old drivers when i played the note one octave above the original wave it sounded perfectly clean. But with apslive/kx/new creative drivers you could hear that the note wasnt perfect. When you play very high notes you can actulally hear new frequencies which are caused by the bad looping. I guess the old drivers used another (better?) algorythm for looping. Is this what has been tried to correct with the "improved loop" and the "two loop types"? I havent checked the quality of 3538g yet, only 3537 so i will do it now. But i want to know how to select which looping type i want. -Cheiz |

Hi folks, it looks like it's been a while since thise thread was active. For some reason I can't seem to download 3538g update from the kX site. My hope is to bring my drivers up to 3538h (which I do have downloaded and waiting) I just need to get the file to install this step first. thanks

Yeah, it seems that the links to all the 3538 versions are broken (gives 404 error).
Or maybe (wishful thinking?), they are being replaced by a 3538i full version install? |

I have 3538g update (I -THINK- you have to have 3538c before installing this... not sure tho.) on my webserver:
http://www.naptastic.com/g.exe If you need other versions, I might have them, and I will gladly host them. THIS LINK WILL GO BAD AFTER A FEW WEEKS. Just to warn you. :-) |

the files may not be on the server any more - wait for 3538i, which should be released soon, I'm running it now and it works great

You can get .3538c, g, and h from Russ' site here: http://home.comcast.net/%7Egarberr/
Thx Russ. ![]() EDIT: I have the Dynamics Processor and a couple of CrossOver Plugins with .3538i. Are they not in earlier .3528 beta releases? I cant remember. Maybe plug Ins you refer to are in the UFX package by Max M. The most recent kX driver relese compatuble with the UFX package is .3537. Do a search for UFX or Plug ins in uniform in this forum to find the download link for the UFX pack. Better yet, the UFX pack for .3537 can be downloaded from TravelRec's site here: http://www.electricstart.de/index.htm
