KX driver installation problem
Hi friends,
I'm new to this forum and i'm having Mercury G-320 notebook with VIA C-3 processor having AC97 soundcard and i'm very interested to play soundfonts and i downloaded latest version KX driver 'kxdrv 3537 full" and i installed in D drive program files and i restarted my system and when i tried to open 'kx mixer' i'm geeting the message " file kxskin.kxs not found or is invalid,The kx audio driver was not installed correctly, please re-run set up" and now i tried to setup the audio driver many times but i'm getting the same message and the file "kxskin.kxs" is already existing in the same folder but i'm unable open the mixer screen. Now i'm using windows XP pro operating system and i have already installed Direct X driver and i'm using VIA 1612A chipset AC97 soundcard. I shall be very grateful if someone please help to open the KX mixer screen without any problem. Thanks, sunny. |

Welcome to the forum.
![]() The problem is that you do not have a type of sound hardware that the kX drivers are made for. The kX Project is made to support sound hardware based on the EMU 10k1 and 10k2 sound chips. See the description on the front page of the website. http://kxproject.lugosoft.com/index.php?skip=1 |

use the alternative asio from "asio4all", then you can get also very low latencies.
search in google for it

all this asio-driver need a wdm-driver for the soundcard. it is not working with the older vxd-driver, like under w95 and 98. w98se can use the wdm-driver. works on my lappy with 6ms

Hi Gerald,
Thanks for your replies and now i downloaded" ASIO4ALL V2" driver and i installed succesfully in my system as my sysytem is having only VIA AC97 soundcard and now i wan't to play sf2 soundfonts and now what i should do with "ASIO4ALL" to play sf2 soundfonts? and now is KX driver is needed along with ASIO4ALL for playing sf2 soundfonts?if KX driver is not suitable for my AC97 soundcard then which program/player i should use for playing sf2 soundfonts without any crackles or popping noises for my VIA C-3 processor? Waiting for your repies. Thanks, sunny. Last edited by sunny; Dec 31, 2004 at 07:32 AM. |
