kx drivers resolve SBLive non-VIA WinXP problems

After installing WinXP on my pc, I started hearing crackling from my SBLive value card while playing certain games. These problems did not exist under Win98. I do not have a VIA chipset, I have tried the well-known disable turbo mode registry patch, I have tried disabling EAX and hardware acceleration, and I have installed the latest creative drivers. One game in particular, Operation Flashpoint, suffers greatly from this problem, whilest the recent Doom3 suffers not at all.

Do the kx drivers resolve this problem with the Creative Labs SBLive drivers under WinXP? Is this a reasonable tradeoff for the loss of EAX?

Shame on Creative Labs for not producing a fix for this problem. I will not purchase any of their products ever again.

The best way would be to try it Yourself. Did You checked Your IRQ's, maybe something is using the same IRQ as Your sound card. And what about Operation Flashpoint, it's unplayable on kX with hardware acceleration enabled.

The interrupt is not the problem. Device manager lists SBLive as only device on IRQ22.

Of course I can just try it myself, but it is such a widespread problem I was hoping someone had already tried it.
