??? Help, kx with Audigy2 - no sound

I have installed the kx driver for my Audigy2 ZS for the first time ever and there is no sound at all, except at windows startup the welcome sound!
I uninstalled all creative software first, used drivercleaner3 to remove the rest. The installation went smooth without any problems.
I have a 2.1 system, the I-Trigue L3500
What should I do?

Edit: I found the problem.
The "toggle 'swap front and rear mode'" box was checked by default. Great, how am I supposed to know this? I just clicked everywhere and everything.
The menues and interfaces are really terribly confusing and not labeled.

System Specs

you are told with the dialog box once the kX drivers are installed about the swap front/rear option
it is also mentioned in the getting started guide and the FAQ on the kX website and the kX Help file
