Questions about Kx Automation

Hi,

I've been thinking about controlling a few DSP setups by a midi interface and I have a few questions.

Does the Kx Automation feature receive it's data from the default Midi-in Device? If not how do you set it?

I have two soundcards on my system, SBLive and Audigy 2.

Can the Midi Automation feature address both cards irrespective of which ever one is selected in the Kx panel?
