Since I installed kx I hear crackling and stuttering during DVD playback (I use WinDVD6 in "SPDIF mode")(I tried various versions of kx but the problem didn't dissapear). To fix it I know installed the AC-3 filter. But although I have set "Prefer AC3 Filter" in the settings menu of AC3 filter it seems like the kx ac3 decoder is still in use ("AC-3 decode" is still displayed when I start a DVD) and the crackling is still present. My question is: How can I prevent kx from decoding AC3 audio signals?? Or is there another way to fix that crackling problem?? (P.S. DVD playback worked without crackling with the creative driver)
![]() I would be glad if someone could help me, because I do not want to install that creative driver again, I hate it!!! ![]() may it'll help: system information: AMD XP 3000+ on ASUS A7V8X-X 1024 MB RAM NVIDIA Geforce 5900 160GB Audigy 2 (SB0240 10k2 [d800]<-- I didn't know which is important) |

Yes, thanks! But where can I find this setting?!?! I only could find the setting in "mixer"/"Master" (using the standard aqua skin) which is called "SPDIF AC-3".... But I've got analogue speakers (5.1).. and the SPDIF setting didn't help.... I'm sorry if I get on your nerves, but I'm youst a kx-n00b, thats all...

I got it "fixed"... Using the new power DVD I can get almost as good qualitay in the software decoding mode as in the hardware based one... I mean, I can live with it... Just in case of someone has got the same problem...
