How do I disable IR?

Could someone help me figure out how to totally disable the IR port. My TiVo remote it messing with my system. Thanks.

Right clock on the tray icon and choose settings, make sure there's no tick mark next to remote. If that doesn't work, put a piece of electrical tape over the sensor. Ugly, but effective.
