Cohexistance of kXProject and Creative drivers, using 2 cards?

In a scenario where I have 2 Audigy cards installed, would that be possible to have the Creative drivers control one card (for gaming purposes) and the kXProject drivers control the other ?
How?

I believe it is impossible because Creative drivers do not coexist well with ANY other soundcard drivers particulary not the foreign ones driving one of their cards.
It would be both easier and cheaper to install two Windows XP systems on two partitions and use one with creative drivers for gaming and another for music with kX.

its possible

install creative on one card first, then install kX - choosing not to install on the card you want to keep with the CL drivers

Actualy, both CL and kX drivers coexist very well on a multi-card config.
The only tricky part is/can be; installing the CL drivers if both cards are identical.

disable one in the device manager before installing CL, then enable it, and cancel any windows attempt to install drivers for it - then install kX

Cool!

Guys, I think he was talking theoreticaly. I guess that he doesn't have 2 cards yet and that is why I suggested easier and cheaper solution -- dual boot.

I doubted it was possible because I had some troubles with having onboard soundcard (Azalia HD Audio) and Audigy 2 ZS at the same time. Both cards were working but Creative apps were complaining that they can't find their card and refused to work. So if he wishes to use Creative apps he might have troubles (particulary with EAX Console).

Yes I agree. In the OP's question (gaming <-> music), a dual boot is without doubt the best suggestion.
If, on the other hand, someone would like to use 2 CL cards, one with kX installed, the other
with CL, then this is absolutly possible.
I my music pc I use an ADG1 with CL drivers for proper soundFont support,
and an ADG2 with kX drivers connected together via spdif.

That is two kX cards and onbard sound as you said. I was talking about Creative card and onboard sound and EAX Console complaining that it cannot find the card which worked otherwise.
In his instance that would mean that he can't have control over EAX and that may be important for him, don't you agree?

But does EAX Console and other Creative applications work for you (on the card that uses Creative drivers)?

Yes, without any problems/conflicts I can use/set all CL effects in EAX panel etc. etc.
(although I have never played a game on that machine of course).

Not sure that I understand why, it is quite easy when the Windows install comes up tp procede manually and point at C:\Program Files\kX Project\3537 Windows will find kx.inf bring up the driver selection panel in the normal way and soforth.

I think dj means when installing the CL driver part.
CL installer may fail when it sees 2 cards. kX doesn't.
