Bunch of used Lives/Audigy2 /ZS

Hi folks,

I work at a computer store and we deal in some computer salvage parts. We just got a load of various Lives, Live Drives, Audigy, Audigy2 Audigy 2ZS breakout boxes.

Question 1: Do all kX comptible cards acutally say EMU 10K1 or EMU 10K2 on the chip? or are some audigies say something different on the chip and still run EMU 10k2.

Question 2: Whats the deal with the Audigy2 ZS break out box? It has an AD_Link1 port on it that ive never seen before. Does it connect to the Audigy? because if it does then none of the cards we got have the AD_Link connector! Hmm we may have 2 or 3 of the break out boxes with out the matching ver of the audigy.

We also got some live drives and tons of Live 5.1s. These may go Ebay, not sure yet. But if anyone is near Winston Salem NC, USA we may have some of these extra ZS break out boxes and Live drives cheap. Still sorting thru the stuff in the salvage store.

This very much sounds like a dream I had a while ago - I dreamt a room full of hundreds of used lives and audigys in dusty cardboard boxes and they were all mine. I woke up with hope in my eyes

For the last 10 days i've been on eBay trying to bid for several Audigy & Live! drives (breakboxes) without any luck

Had too much trouble because nobody wanted to ship to my country... Must have been cursed or something until you appeared with this post! Thank you!

About your questions:

1:

Audigy4 ('10k2.6') has CA010400 chip label...
Audigy2 & Audigy2zs ('10k2.5') has CA0102 label...
Audigy1 (10k2) series has CA0100 label...
Live! (10k1) has simple EMU10k1 chip label...

2:

There are two types of breakout boxes; internal & external...

internal boxes are connected through AUD_EXT connecter for Live! & Audigy1 cards, and through AD_EXT for Audigy2 & Audigy4 cards.

external boxes are ussually connectoed through AD_LINK_ 1 or AD_LINK_2 external cables using special thin connectors. I think AD_LINK_1 was used for Audigy2 Platinum Pro, AD_LINK_2 for Audigy2 ZS Platinum Pro & Audigy4 Pro...
Only exception from this rule is (little bit older) External Audigy Drive (black one) wich still uses AUD_EXT connection, but through special thick 3-raw external cable... This cable carries same signals as AUD_EXT...
I'm quite sure that nobody knows nothing about these AD_LINK pinouts, but if i ever get close to one of these breakboxes i'll make some research...

When they are all sorted out and priced I may can help any of the kX Project Team members, Eugene,Daniel, DJStick, TigerM. You guys who keep kX going by helping Eugene and us forum useres. I cant however do this for every tom,dick or harry that comes along!

never said that....you products sell them to whoever you like. All I meant is..they are used, so your gonna price them and leave and sell them to whoever walks in off the street correct?..all I mean is why don't you post what you have for sale in the CL line and see if anybody wants them..we all use CL cards thats why were here and a sale is a sale....

ROBSCIX, you're right, and doing like you suggeted will contribute kX project for sure.

When i was mapping pinouts for Audigy2's AD_EXT connector (wich were unknown before me & few other kX users sterted research) i had real trouble because i had not Live!Drive to experiment by myself. But thanks to kX community, i was able to make this pinouts avaliable for all who are interested, and many found this information very usefull...
Now, if i could only get one of these external breakout boxes then it would be possible to 'discover' AD_LINK pinouts or even more; to write an article or two, how to modify different 'Drives' (breakout boxes) for different Creative cards...
Imagine having cheap LiveDrive II connected to Audigy2 and getting several additional audio, S/PDIF & MIDI inputs / outputs...

It would be a shame if this stuff is sold to people who don't even care...

Hey folks, I'll be glad to help if i can, But the desicion as to to where/how the cards are sold is not up to me, im an employee ( and the newest one too). If i help, I would just have to buy some cards my self and ship them myself, I have time to do this for kX project contibuters, but not for alot of other folks, i just dont have time.

I know these Aren't your toadly but would you consider trading a korg synth module for a couple cards?...probably not but the module retailts for $750, I don't use it anymore..but I would like to see it go to someone who could get use out of it....what about you stick?

Yea DJ_Stick, Im only doing this to try to help with folks who are part of the kX project and those that are contributers.

heres the audigy stuff thats been priced

4) sb0090 $29.95 each

2) sb0240 $25.95 each

1) sb0240 w/live drive $95.00

We also have 2) sb0290 break out boxs but we didnt get the audigy cards with the proprietary hook up for them. We may be recieving more shipments and we hope those cards will come.
