ASIO control panel not opening
for some reason I cant open the ASIO control panel.
I right click on the icon in the tray, go to settings and select it and nothing happens. I am trying to change ASIO to 48000hz so I can use kx with cakewalk. at the moment nothing appears in cakewalk sonar 4.1 producer when ASIO is selected. Any other resolutions of my problem? I tried reinstalling drivers 3537 and 3538 according to the post on these forums, but no luck. Unfortunetly, i have had more success running asio with creative drivers, something i never thought i would say. oh yeah Audigy 2 ZS on a decent computer with XP. |

Have you both drivers, creative and kX running on the same system?! This could be the reason. Uninstall both completely, then reinstall 3537 package. Be sure you have hardware acceleration to full. This should work. Be also sure you have selected the kX-asio in your application.

yeah i took the creative drivers off, just as explained on the website or the forum.
I installed the 3537. nothing appears in Sonar. I cant select KX asio. I've noticed many people experience this problem. The only solution i have found is to "change ASIO to 48khx in the ASIO control panel". For some reason that panel doesnt open, and theres my problem. kx drivers work in WDM though. |

Have you gone into Control Panel -> Sounds and Multimedia (something else under Win9x) -> Audio -> Advanced and set hardware acceleration to "full" and resampling to "best"? If you don't do these things, the ASIO control panel will not open.

nappylady thanks for your reply, however it did not solve my problem.
i was actually surprised to see that hardware acceleration and sampling rate were not on full. I adjusted it to the max however the KX ASIO control panel did not open. My host program Sonar also has a button to call it, and it does nothing. the problem sill remains. |

Check again all multimedia tabs (all speakers and recording tabs available) and repeat the procedure - maybe you´ve overseen something. Set speaker setup to 5.1! If nothing helps, reset settings of kX (right click tray icon -> reset settings) and reset global settings too, answer all dialog boxes with yes, then re-install the driver. Check again the hardware acceleration.

Whenever I have that problem, it is because my hardware acceleration has been set to something less than full.
Run dxdiag to set it properly. |
