Help with the MIC
Hi people. The driver is giving me a hard time, when using skype to talk to my friends they can't hear me... I hear them, they dont.. I can't even record my voice.. What am I doing wrong? I can hear my self when talking into mic but no other man can hear me.... Please Help, Its important..
With Creative drivers it was ok.. now with KX it's not... well not yet.. I turned ON the mic offcourse... I can hear myself, and put the mic in AC 97... it's not it.

If you are using the kX mixer try this. In the mixer click on the speaker with a red dot. On the bottom left there is a set of two sliders called AC97. Set the level to 0 and unmute it. I've never used Skype but I think this should work. Don't forget to set AC97 to mic.

np. The mixer can be confusing with all those sliders.

I'm not new to KX, and used it more than 1,5 years much, but I never recored anything from Mic or Line-In. So, I can't usterstand how to work with Mic too. I have Sblive, I've connected Mic to it's input, turned on all that was needed (i hope that all
) in AC97 view. The result is that I can hear the signal from the Mic in rear channel outputs, and no any difference what I change in KX DSP ! All the time I hear it from Rear outputs only, and can't change anything !If I've understood right, AC97 inputs (which include the Mic) are 0 and 1 outputs in Prolog, but even if I disconnect it, or connect it directly to Epilog outputs there is no any changes. No thing happens, I only hear it from Rear outputs . And I can't record anything from it, I tried to record something in SoundForge and Wavelab, but there is no any signal detected in input monitor for recording. So, can anybody explain me, how to tune the KX, for possibility to use Skype, and for recording Mic signal to WaveLab for example

Try to click on reset in the mixer AC97 page and set it again on Mic. Sometimes you need to do that to get it to work. Don't forget to unmute and raise the recording level of the mic as I said before.
If you want to record mic in software without using the mixer you need to connect the first two pins of prolog to RecL and RecR on epilog. |

It was unmuted of course, and level was raised, but.. There are no RecL or RecR pins on Epilog, there are only psychical soundcard outputs like Analog Front Left, Analog Rear Right, etc. and other Asio pins. And yes, these are first two pins on Prolog that are AC97 inputs, but I can't do nothing with it, I only hear the Microphone from Analog Rear Otputs..
Here is my KX DSP configuration what have at this moment www.psydark.nightmail.ru/Cap1.jpg may be this will help.. Last edited by Vadim_K; Apr 11, 2005 at 12:22 AM. |

You should have RecL and RecR. From your pic I see that they are not connected.
Look : http://pages.globetrotter.net/samaus...s/RecLRecR.png This is the default setup. To have it righclick in DSP and select reinitialize DSP. |
