just use foobar's ssrc will be ok. enable it in "dsp manager",target 48000hz,slow mode

ssrc means software sample rate convertion. creative cards need it while envy24 cards don't

You can get SSRC 1.29 from HERE, and if you use Winamp you can get the DirectSoundOut Plugin with SSRC v.2.2.6 from HERE. Just drop the file into Winamps Plugin folder. Then, pick and change the 'Out' plugin from within Winamps preferences (when you pick the DSOut w/SSRC you will notice a new tab: Resampling.. in there you can enable/change the sampling rates).

Timme is right though. Foobar is much easier to do this with, and is a better player for pure files.

im still not sure how to enable it and what it does exactly
does it make the sound quality better for everything?
music and games?
is this a plugin for the DSP?

it should be a plugin for media players(foobar,winamp,etc),not for Kx

and thus it would not work for games

SSRC just reduce the highest and lowest frequency in foobar200, sounds like more concentrated.,
and SSRC is needed for KX asio supporting 48khz..I don't think the SSRC is great.
I have been using foobar2000 and kx driver for years
