Cross talk / bleeding between channels
I currently use a custom DSP setup mainy based on the exelent ProFX package. All sources are connected using the FXMix module in order to get a kind of "What You Hear Is What You Record" - type of setup. Nothing have been changed regarding the default router settings. When I play a MIDI file I noticed that the sound is distorded but by turning down the volume fader for all other channels on the FXmix (exept for the FxBus 2/3 input supplying the MIDI audio) the distortion disappears. Any explanations ?

that distortion is probably the noise-floor of the AC97 codecs interfering with the midi signal, possibly making it clip
