Using ASIO
Hi thanks for your reply. Loving your site, its helped me out a few times
Im using asio. The buffer rate is 10.67ms. But had it at 5.33ms and 8.00ms, didn't seam to make much diffirence to the clitching. Should it be lower? I'll try some lower settings, i pressumed though if there's this sort of problem the buffer needs to be slower. Thanks again for the reply bro |

Oops
Oops...... sorry i ment the latency settings not buffer
It seams to work best at 16.00ms. It worked ok with Kx3537 (befor i upgraded to the 3538) at 10.67ms. How can i get a lower latency? |

If you have Windows XP, try getting your soundcard on an IRQ all alone, if it's not already (this means disable in BIOS all the things you dont use like parralel ports, and onboard sound: this will help free IRQ slots, and Windows will have a more likely chance to place your soundcard on an IRQ alone). It helps to imrove your latency, and it helps to get rid of clicks and pops.
Also, select Adjust For Best Performance: upon a right click of My Computer select Properties/Advanced tab and under Performance select Settings, then on the Visual Effects tab select Adjust for best performance. On the Advanced tab in this same place, for Processor Scheduling, select Background Services. For audio playback, it helps to have an ATA featured HDD/IDE, and have it enabled. So, in case you have one, make sure DMA If Available is selected from the IDE Controllers section via Device Manager.

Ummm......?
Thanks for your reply again. Im running a Server version of windows, its much the same as windows 2000.
Im a newbie with computers, drivers, BIOS etc. A friend went through an disabled a few things. But could some of those things have been re-inabled when i re-instaled the Kx to 3538? When i go: My computer-Properties-Performance-perfomance options. The only options i get are: Optermise performance for-Applications, or background services. The later is selected as you said but there doesn't seem to be a visual effects tab or Adjust for best perfomance setting? I upgraded to 3538 mostly to get rid of a noise problem i was having when i opened eny of the record channels. It was a very audible hiss an came through on the recording. The reinstall fixed it for a while but it's just now come back... ... Im going ![]() Eny ideas would be so good! Im back to square one
