Current state of kX project
Hi,
I know I don't have any right to bitch about this, since all of the fabulous work Eugene has done is entirely voluntary and unpaid. I've been a kX user for a good few years now and I love it - it allows my consumer grade soundcard do tricks my 1500€-soundcard-owning-friend is jealous of. I'll just say what everybody here is probably thinking - the rate of development is agonizingly slow. 3537 has been the official stable release for what - 2 years now? And installing the most recent version requires a hacky procedure, plugin packs are being held back by it, the remote control support hasn't advanced one bit. There's SO much potential here, I've been patiently waiting for 24/96 ASIO for years now and it's been promised for just as long. We've been promised - sort of - to have 3538 final around new year. We're almost six months further now, still no news. I realize kX is a large and ambitious project for just one person to maintain and I understood due to legal complications, opening up the source isn't an option. I don't want to be ungrateful, I'm not. Eugene owes us nothing after all... But please, throw the fans a bone here... All vented out now. Thanks for reading, |

The 3538 final version will be released soon as well as the kx preset exchange system on which I am currently working.
