ac3 decoding problem

>> ac-3 decoding is already supported for all the cards (ezboard.com)

I've tried playing a several DIVx with AC3 Audio using WinDVD Platinum (Dolby Digital/Surround Supported), and I don't get any output on the FX Bus AC3 Outputs programmed. I only get a very high volume noise in the FX Bus Wave Left Output. My card is a SB0060 and I'm using the latest drivers Version 5.00.3528 ALPHA.

Is this supported or am I doing something wrong?

ac-3 decoding is supported, but you have to switch your player to 'spdif' mode

switch your player to 'spdif' mode

Thanks for the prompt reply, but until today I wasn't able to test it again.

I've switched the Audio Output Configuration of WinDVD to "Digital (SPDIF) out to External Processor" and still not getting output out of FXBus4-9(AC3) or FXBus0-1(Wave0/1)

I've also tested it with PowerDVD and didn't get output too.

Any ideas?

I also have the same problem with the ac-3 decode. I'm running windvd 4.0 on winxp, 3529 drivers and SB0090 audigy platinum. I tried mapping the various ac-3 fxbus's directly to epilog with no success..
Any ideas?

I have success on my CT4832 10k1 [7800] with 3528, mapping the outputs and enabling SPDIF on my player works, however the sound is delayed by a noticable amount, I'd guess 500ms or more. Using the 'ac3filter' DShow filter available on sourceforge, if I set speaker mode to anything other than stereo or mono, I get loud buzzing sound coming from all channels. Using stereo mode works and I get sound without delay, but of course thats losing most of the point of AC3 since it is downmixing to two channels. AC3 support still has some way to go I imagine . Still, that's the only major thing missing for me, everything else works great.

ac-3 support is not currently very stable

however, 3530 will introduce a WDM multichannel support, that will enable you to use your player in 4 and 5.1 modes -- most of the issues with ac-3 playback should be solved

"loud buzzing sound" fixed here by selecting PCM Float in ac3filter settings page. PCM 16-bit is not working.
