Thanks
![]() I am curious as to why we no longer need to use KX_OUT(0xd)/KX_OUT(0xe) for the rear channels on SB022x models (models that previously had the rear speaker problems)? i.e. epilog is still using KX_OUT(0x8)/KX_OUT(0x9) for the rear channels, but it is now working. -Russ <edit> I thought I would mention that my SB022x card works without the hack setting, and post my card info (as reported by 3538i). SB022xa 10k1 [a000] Device: 21102 Subsys: 80661102 ChipRev: a Codec name: Unk AC97-codec [83847658] </edit> Last edited by Russ; Jul 28, 2005 at 10:24 PM. Reason: more info |

seems as if there's no hope for me.
No rear/center for me still but i do have lfe.When i try the center chan in speaker test the sounds plays in 1 speaker in the rear(the left). ![]() Think there might be a work around? OH, and also...Russ's plugin didnt help me either back in previous 3538's. But all is well in 3537...but i want 3538 so im going to fiddle with it alot. |

>... has an option for the Windows 98 SE quick Fix (what is the quick fix, anyway)? He just did not updated this part of installer. >Could it be that win 98 SE is supported, but not Win 98? No. Eugene's "Win98" states for "Microsoft Windows 98 SE and Microsoft Windows ME" (The original Win 98 was never supported by kX) |

about 3538i
I don't know if anyone else has already tried it, but I just had some terrible results and I'm back in ol' 3538h listening to some music
. At least that release gives some proper sound instead of just noise ![]() I use two soundcards (0240 with the front panel and 0060 with hoonteck's I/O). With 3538i, both start giving noise even before windows is fully loaded. Both seem to give more noise in one physical output. Its a hell of a noise, believe me! ![]() Now the best part. The DSP, although it loads and some plugins work, the ones that don't can't be unregistered (a bug 3538h has too) nor they can be installed again! This issue happened both by reinstalling the driver as well as doing a clean install (uninstalling previous version and restarting) What can be so terribly wrong? Besides, I hoped the DSP would come along with a beautiful blue bar at the top with the lovely [_OX] for minimizing, maximizing and closing, like every other windows app. In this bar you could read the name of the project you are working on. A file menu could be fine too, where you could see the names of the recent projects and open them immediately. I know Eugene hasn't got much time to work on these particular items, and I know what I've just mentioned can mean hours of coding, but in my opinion, these are currently more important than ANY audio improvement. It is very difficult to work in a program which doesn't help you with some basic information like the document you are working on. Since this kind of coding is really different from the audio stuff, and we all know Eugene has little time to work on this, I would suggest that some other coder could work on that. Unfotunately I know nothing about coding, I'm an artist, musicologist and DJ who likes cables very much. I can't donate since I can't use PayPal in my countryI've found that most musicians aren't techies, and trying to use a program which lacks so many essential features is even more difficult for a musician. This software has some serious potential for musicians too, and by putting these File features in, more of them could start using it. The big advantage of using the DSP is its rock-hard stability, where not even a hard system crash can stop the audio processing. This is invaluable for live situations. Don't make the kX drivers unfriendly for musicians. It should be made for them! By the way, the loud noise in 3538i could be fixed too, I want to use it since there are a couple of new functions I already needed! thanx for the upgrade http://www.hardwareheaven.com/images/s...big%20grin.gif

With the hack enabled, i only get the "bleeding" in the rear left speaker...
Meaning i dont get any sound but that in the speaker test. But when i take it off and reinitialize i get everything except the rear... Weird, my card is gay |

You get no sound at all apart from that LOUD noise. It happened to me installing version 3538i both as an upgrade and a clean install. Both cards work like a charm when I reinstall version 3538h hope it gets fixed

@rossqwq
In this thread, you were using the Center/LFE/Digital jack for you speaker connection because the jack for Analog Front was damaged (and the rear channels were not working with 3537). Did you remember to move your speakers to the Analog Rear jack? Do you know for sure that the Analog Rear jack is not damaged too? |

Problem using new 3538i release
I used the old 3537 and the 3538 betas: were a must on my audigy2!
But now with the 3538i release i can get only static noise! ![]() I reinstalled old 3538h and all sounds fine. Can anyone help me to find what is wrong? kX see my sound card as SB0240 10k2 F440. Thanks, Piovrauz |

Hm there are still problems with D3D audio in some games, that use 3D sound, and hardware mixing. Voices not played correctly, or fully gone. Eventually they are played without propper volume level - driver plays everything that it can on max level :>
But i'm not writing it as a complainment. I know that kX are made for musicians mostly, and i've used it to record some tracks, and they work awesome this way. I just want to ask you, Eugene is there any chance, that you'll look into this part of kX which is responsible for 3D sound. Maybe it's not a big problem, and just a matter of a quick fix? Well, if not - let it be, 24/96 is a better problem to fix ;-) After all, thanks for great set of drivers, they rock! |
