Audigy2 plat. eX + CoolEditPro 2 + mic recording problems
Hello all
![]() I am new to this audio driver (and this forum), and I must tell you I am amazed by the performance gains and tweaking options offered by the kX Project for my Audigy2 Platinium eX. Only one minor problem has been keeping me from using it, and even though I've read the manual and searched the forums (and found the DSP article) I still couldnt manage to resolve it. When I try to record audio in CoolEdit Pro 2.0 (no asio input options - I just want to record in "what you hear" mode) the progressbar of CE stucks, the time indicator continues to count seconds as normally but no "visuelisation" of the audio comes to the screen. Well thats not the bad part, the bad part is that after I hit stop there is nothing recprded except a tiny amount of empty samples probably added by CoolEdit. First I looked into cooledit's options and I found the (in the inputs section) the only kX device (something like wave 0/1, I will post more information after I reinstall it and reboot) and Wave Mapper. Now, since the wave mapper used to work fine for the original Audigy2 drivers but didnt for kX I switched to the wave SB0280 10k2 [ff40] 0/1 source. No results. After that I went to read the manual which wasnt really clear about the DSP section, but I found that wonderfull tutorial in this section in a sticky thread, and tried to remap the prolog "chip"-'s Line in 1 directly to the epilog's RecL and RecR. I even tried adding a "src" plugin to map to epilogs RecL and RecR outputs. I got no results with both. (Just for testing, I added a src which takes from Line in 1 (mic) and otputs to the last Asio outputs, and I was able to record/hear from those asio inputs in FL Studio which is ASIO capable. I am sorry if I missed something in the manual/faq/forums (but I did search them all). Any help at all will be really appreciated. |

Got 2 things moving:
Just tested ASIO recording with a SoundForge demo, works fine Cool edit now moves the "progressbar" but no audio is recorded. If I zoom enough I can see some square-like artefacts (I guess thats normal) beeing "recorded" Ocassionaly the peak metter also goes very high, but still no sound is beeing recorded (I think that peak metter goes high at some interval of 30-40 seconds) |

Probably be a good idea to jot down the steps here so that next time someone has the same question, there will be something to search.

same prob in Adobe audition(previous CE)
I had that same problem.
It was resolved after reinstalling kx. I 've noticed that when using some other programs then Audition couldn't record (just like you described). Because installing again the whole driver was not very pleasant I saved the kx setup and when Adobe Audition couldn't REC I loaded again the kx-setup file. Everything fine. I think it was some USB video capture device thet caused the problem and I removed it. it may help others to resolve...
