Mic Boost?

I'm running a SBlive! platinum card and I installed the KXdrivers to get lower latency (70ms is a little too high) and all was fine, I got 19ms latency with them BUT I cannot change the 'mic boost' setting, I can't actually seem to find it. I can't change any of the recording levels at all. The only reason I'm asking about the boost is I want to turn it off for Line level instruments and on for the mic. If I play my guitar or bass (even at a low volume) its really distorted. Do any of you have any ideas?

Do not plug Guitar or Bass to "Mic" input... Actually this mic-in is for telephony/internet apllications only...
Although you need an preamp to get less or more quality sound with guitars plugged into "line-in'... well..

>I can't change any of the recording levels at all

btw. it seems you are using wrong faders to do that.
"Never unmute anything on AC97 page!"
the only things you need are "source" box on ac97 page
and "Ac97 In" faders on "Ins'n'Outs" and "Recording" page...

Well, and search in that forum, that "getting line/mic to work" theme were already played several times... (and read the help please ;)

So do you need to use mic2/line2 for mic recording in cakewalk?

Sorry, what I meant was, the mic-in on the Live! drive. I've set it over to Line-In.
