Sad Rewire and Cubase SX with WXP

Have read Steinberg´s and Propellerhead´s fora-some others have had problems, but many say these two should work together
like a dream.Have installed and reinstalled many times.Thay used to work fine with Cubase 5 and Reason 1.Why not now?I have recently changed to kX project´s driver and WILL NEVER GO BACK!!!! It´s fabulous.
Have SBLive! (3 years old and if any music snobs feel like laughing, then don´t bother to reply here.I´m serious and only interested in my own (gradually maturing) standard of sound/music quality.
P4 2.6 mhz 120GB fast HD 256 DDR Ram.
Have many VST instruments-does this affect the situaion?
Can´t get hold of Propellerhead´s fix for limiting the number of audio tracks demander by Reason of Cubase.

Cubase SX

Hi, i don't think your ReWire problem should have anything to do with kxdrivers.
I tryed rewire too, but came not far.
Maybe Reason2 and SX- that could work...
/and a friendly question... could you give a tip, how i can get Cubase SX and Reason 2... maybe from you through an FTP connection... please /

Thanks for taking the time to reply. When you write Reason 2 Cubase SX,do you mean I should reverse the order of opening?Have tried this, and by accident have made some progress:As long as I maximise SX AFTER opening Reason,I can get a degree of dual operation from them-Use Reason´s instruments as VSTi´s,for example.I can not however, make any edits or program anything in Reason whilst Sx is open.Plus-when closing down,Reason first, then they both ALWAYS freeze, and my mouse goes apeshit, meaning I have to switch off my pecious computer at the main switch!Annoying.
Re your enquiry, look in your mailbox.
Appear to have made a little progress,by changing performance priority in r.click "thiscomputer"/properties/advanced/performance/settings change to
"best performance" instead of "let Windows decide".This gives the whole ball game a slightly uglier appearance-small price to pay for better performance, but I must save my pennies for more ram (have 256 DDR).Still think Reason ought to behave much better, though, don´t you?

rewire.dll

A common problem is that the wrong rewire.dll file is installed on your compluter. Did you see the help pages on this? I've seen a number in various places but I'm afraid I can't remember where.

Also apparently BuitHeads says there are problems with rewire tools on Windows XP but that may just be BitHeadz problems.

Hi emeyer I don´t know how to reply here without including thje question.
The Rewire file I have is version 1.4.2.69 as far as I know this is the most recent,or do you mean I should find an older one?Rebirth (which I have in version 2.0 has an older Rewire.dll file (1.4.0.60.),but I have tried that without success.
I have won some slight performance improvement by changing my Windows priority in PC/properties/Advanced/performance/settings
to "best performance" ,but am still a long way from how it ought to be.

I'm afraid I wouldn't know, as I stopped using any rewire products before I upgraded to XP. Perhaps you could contact Steinberg or Propellerheads with your question?
