Setting kxdriver to mono
Hello, I am halfdeaf and I am also using headphones to listen music and play games, thus stereo playback hinders me crippled effectively in games and is a burden to my music listening abilities, I was directed here from a hungarian forum, and I am sincerely asking for the help of anyone who might know the answer to my question, which is:
How do I make kxdriver play sounds in mono only? I don't want nor need stereo playback (I can't understand it anyway with 1 ear :P). Being halfdeaf isn't the problem, but if I combine my not functioning right ear with headphones it is like having a concrete wall built around my head, so I can't hear ANYTHING that is coming from the right side, so I am looking for a method to make everything come from the left side. Sorry if I sound like an idiot but I guess this is what mono is about.

In the DSP window;
You could place the MonoMix plugin *after* the Surrounder output. Make sure you set the Surrounder to plain stereo. So the MonoMix 'sits between Surrounder and Timbre (or EQ10 if you have an Audigy). HTH, /LeMury |

Hello again, my music problems were solved, however in games I am still only hearing things from the left, whatever happens in a game on my right side is still "unheard".
How do I set monomix up to make everything (unrelated to application) come from the left side? I was able to toy around with monomix so I got to a point where I can switch what I hear from the left (either the things I hear from the right or the left, but not both so far )Hearing things that happened on my right side in a game was quite odd while not hearing what happened on the left. http://lothandar.interhost.hu/dps.jpg This is how it looks and this way I am back to where I started from kind of, even in music I don't hear things coming from the right, but playing games was unbearable to have a twisted hearing. I got no idea how to link it properly it seems |

Make sure the Mono Mix sliders are both at the same value. You should connect the ouput of Mono Mix to both the left and the right input pins of Timbre. That will give you mono sound.
In the picture you showed, you send a mix of the left and right channels to the left speaker and you send the left channel to the right speaker. |
