Mic recordiing probs.. echoes

Hello. I've finally figured out how to record with the KX drivers, but my problem is that even when I'm not recording I can hear the mic. Here is an example.

I'm recording an acoustic guitar by putting a mic inside of it. When my recording program is off I still hear output through the speakers... and when the recording program is on that causes loads of problems. I strum a chord and it picks up the chord and plays it infinitely faster untill it starts squealing. Any help?

I'm using Guitar FX Box 2.6 for recording guitar, which outputs effects in realtime.
