Only Stereo / Stereo + Center Sound on Audigy

Hi,

i just wanted to try out the kX drivers.

I have a Audigy Player Soundcard together with a Cambridge DTT 3500.

My setting on the Cambridge using the Creative Drivers was :

"Optical" and "Fourpoint 5.1 DIN" to get sound from all speakers

Now, after installing the kx Drivers im unable to hear any sound from the rear boxes / subwoofer.

To hear any sound at all (stero, front left and right) i had to set "Digital Out" on the kx Mixer and "Digital Din" on my Cambridge - after a while i played around and figured that additionally setting Dolby Pro Logic to "Digital In" will also active the Center Speaker...

Now, i have no idea what i did on my cambridge - but usually i only had to set "Optical" not Coaxial nor Digital Din on my Cambridge to have 5.1 sound with the Creative drivers...however this is not working now.

Can anybody help ? Oh and go easy, im not an audiophile =p

btw: using the speaker test yields that only the left and right front speaker is working.....

Did you set your speakers mode to 5.1 in Surrounder+? You can click on Speaker Setup... on the Master page of the mixer to access it.

Did you set the windows speakers settings to 5.1?

What is your soundcard model name? There may be issues with some specific models.

Is your system connected exactly as it was before when it worked. I want to make sure that the problem is not related to your hardware connections.

What version of the drivers are you using (3537, 3538h, 3538i, etc).

Some clarification :

only Stereo seems to work - i hear very quiet sounds from the rear boxes - so although i hear something from every box - i only can hear stereo music at all it seems....do i have to install something for true 5.1 sound ? AC3 decoder ?

I know that there are some issues your soundcard model. A search for sb0090 gives many results about problems. I have no idea what they are and how to solve them as I don't have this model. I suggest you take a look at these threads if nobody comes to your rescue.

The card is okay. Try to get a software decoder like "AC3-Filter" and assign in the DSP the corresponding FX-Bus pair (0/1, 4/5, 6/7, 8/9), each to a different physical output of your card - you can use the ProFX-package downloadable in the DSP-forum (Author: LeMury) for doing this. It works fine for me.
