any support for X-Fi coming? SPDIF ac3 recording issues

So, I'm a music creator and I like the Creative X-Fi for its ASIO and HQ audio support, but I can't seem to do pure digital ac3 capture through the SPDIF (it always decodes it to analog no matter what).
I am trying to send the ac3 out from my TOSlink optical SPDIF out from my laserdisc to do 1:1 pure dolby ac3 capture to my harddrive, so I can add it to a DVD.

Any ideas?

....Do I have to downgrade to the Audigy 2 ZS just to get the SPDIF ac3 recording to work?
