By profile, do you mean are you looking for a DSP setup?

By profile I mean the best possible configuration. dsp, effect, addon or whatever I could get for a Creative SoundBlaster Audigy2 Platinum EX. I am already registered there look for Xssshell..
But I don't want to experiment with things I don't know anything 'bout. IS there any "Profile" which is able to work with my CubaseSX 3.1, my 7.1 SoundSystem (6.1 Up-mix :[ ), Counter-Strike 1.6 (STEREO HEADPHONES), Half-life2 xxx (7.1 EAX4 Sound) and my Winamp 5 MP3 player???? I just want to use kx because I think its the best solution out on the world.. but I don't know how to use it OPTIMAL.. I didn't find any profile(s) which is optimal for this ![]() Please help me out before I get mad. by the way: I don't understand anything special about dsp etc... (I really would to know all If I had time, unfortunately I've none :/ ) I usually use NO equalizer cuz I think my Creative GigaWorks S750 are good enough and the equializer is only limiting the "real" sound quality. Hope I'm on the right way doin this... but I guess U EXPERTS in this forum know it better.. THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH FOR HELPING ME OUT |

in my opinion - for you the best choice is Creative NATIVE drivers, NOT kX.

Well, 1 'profile' isnt enough for me. To truely exploit KX/10Kx - Ive found you need to make custom DSP's configs - for resource sake.
I have for the different applications (one for games, one for movies/winamp, one for Sonar) etc.. And I find its just too much fun to play with NOT to 'roll your own'. It IS a bit confusing at first, but well worth the efforts. And the satifaction of having a unique DSP (for me anyway) is plenty enough for me to say 'SEE YA' to CL. Using other peoples DSP configs - I equate to as, going to a resteraunt famous for allowing guests to cook their own meals - and asking the guy in front of you to make your meal for you... |

for a "Basic" setup without too much DSP messing around just use the default DSP, set both windows sound control panel and the kX surrounder to 6.1
btw kX has NO EAX support

seems as if the YOU-PAX drivers are the best choice for me..
hmm.. I heared that some peepZ now also have the version of Creatives X-FI Software CD !Oh damn I hope YOU-PAX developers look on howto crack the X-FI CD for Audigy2-Audigy4 (no offence but, I think it's nonsense to use it with cheaper soundcards like the default soundblaster live etc..). when anybody knows more about the You-PAX2006 X-FI or so please tell us thanks. |
