SB. Live Vs PCDJ FX
first of all, appoligize for my english
i need to make sure wheather it would out or not before i buy a sb. live card. im goin to build my new dj setup with sb. live from my pocket money. i own pcdj fx vrm software and want to use my pcdj fx with sb. live card. so please list me a sb. live card and model that would work with fx vrm. i hope there are some pcdj user with sb live card in here would give me a help. im goin to set sb. card (kx driver) in fx config as player 1 and 2 >front, cue to rear with 'headphone'. im afarid that there would be little volume from rear in headphone. or some other way to work. here is fx vrm config pic http://img458.imageshack.us/img458/5261/fxconfig4an.jpg i would be lookin for your reply thank you ps. i dont have external mixer. |

Its manual specs out a DirectSound WDM compatable soundcard - which means any KX supported card would work - but....
Are SBLives still sold? - Search these forums for SBLive bugs - I think I recall something about that somewhere, but many refer to their card as an SBXXXX (Mine being a SB0350 = Audigy2 ZS) - so that search may not get all results. Maybe someone can recommend card(s) to avoid.? Id bet that would be a smaller list than cards that will work..?? |

vibra cards will not work with kX, just so you know
some audigy 2 value cards have issues with kX - please check the relevant threads but the live card you have there should work just fine , as will the audigy ES (not LS)i'd recommend taking the a2v if you can get it to work, other wise the ES card is a pretty decent one (i have one as my secondary card right now)

finally,
i had spent almost 24 hrs for my setup, searching other users' problem with anything related in this forum working out like configuring in DSP. as my idea, my headphone is getting crazy. my headphone doesn't give me the way i want to work like a real dj headphone which is PHILIPS SBC HP200. the beats from my headphone is like surrounding or sub-woffer beat. so it is good for the movie or giming user. so i'm here again with a question that "What is the best headphone for kx project (for dj user)?". seem like i need to save money again for headphone on next. (thank you |

PCDJ Red, Red VRm and FX
PCDJ Red 5.3 (Old Version) Red VRM and FX VRM all work fine using KX supported Cards.
I have 2 Machines. Machine 1 Runs RPCDJ Red 5.3 and has a SB Live Plat 5.1 and is set up to use PCDJ with a Real Mixing Desk. Player A routed to front out and player b routed to rear out. The Other Machine is running PCDJ Red VRM (basically the same as FX but with less funtions) The sound board is a Augility 2 ZS and the same sort of setup is used. Player A to front out and Player B to Rear Out Now as far as I know PCDJ Red, Red VRM and FX are desinged more for people hat want to use a Real mixing desk but thay all have a software mixer built into the software. Thay also suport auto play (My 2nd machine sits in a clothing store playing music all day) So any 10K* card supported by KX will work. But depending on how you wish to use pcdj you must set PCD and the KX DSP correctly. On my systems I have Connected the FXBus6/7 to Front Out and FXBus8/9 to Rear Out Then sellected the correct Sound Cards in PCDJ eg KX Wave 6/7 and KX Wave 8/9 Connected a Real Mixer and hay I am DJing :-) |
