Recording issues/using the dsp and routing
I have been trying for three days now.....I have studied the forums and help docs, but still no luck. I have an audigy with live drive. I also just purchased an Audigy 2 pro to take advantage of more inputs, but it is not installed yet. My live drive is from a SBLIVE. My issue is that I can only record "what you hear" from line 2/mic 2 input. I can only record "what you hear". I have my guitar plugged into the line2 input from a DI output from my rocktron processor. I NEED to be able to record just my guitar to a track, while monitoring playback from another track. I have tried SONAR 2 using ASIO and WDM, ADOBE AUDITION, and SOUNDFORGE 5. I am sure it is just my lack of experience with KX, and my lack of understanding of the DSP and Mixer. I have fooled with several routings and mixer settings- including ins, outs and record. I have tried messing with the MX6 plugin. I have never been successful in getting the meters to move in MX6. The only thing I haven't tried yet is the direct recording using SPDIF. My ultimate goal, after figuring out KX, is to be able to record several instruments simultaneously in preferably ADOBE AUDITION, on individual tracks. For example, Bass guitar- DI to left Line 2, Guitar DI to right Line 2, Mic 1 to L Line 1 Mic2 to R line 1 (thru mixer and preamp) and electronic v drums to midi tracksI would acutally like the individual drums to go to individual midi tracks (to be converted to wave later, but that is another matter). I think I need to make a custom plugin to be able to do all this, but I need to learn to crawl before I try to walk or run!!! If anyone can point me in the right direction, or offer any tips, I would appreciate it.

SBLIVE Drive is not compatible with Audigy2 - it can result in hard damage if you connect them together without modifying the drive vor this special case. Before you install kX3538h, uninstall creative driver package and software completely from your system.

I dont have a Audigy Drive, so I cant vouch for other inputs working using a Live or Audigy Drive. Yet, I know with just an Audigy sound card, and LeMury's new ProFX Plugins (ADC in particular), you can record the Mic and Line In with mono signals simultaneously to two separate tracks. The new ProFX plugins are available for kx Driver version .3537 and .3538h. See here for download: http://driverheaven.net/showthread.php?t=70261 I suggest starting with kX Driver .3537 version.
If using 3538h, you have to install 3538c, and 3538g 1st, then 3538h. Download here: http://www.geocities.com/russell_garber/plug.html See here for installation instruction for 3538h: http://driverheaven.net/showthread.php?t=64383 You have to use the kX ASIO driver. You can try using these two inputs 1st, and once you get them to work, try usibg the inputs on the Audigy/Live drive. Since you say you get no signal reading showing in the MX6, you probably have a DSP setup problem. Install one of the driver versions, and clear the DSP and make your own DSP. See this guide for DSP help: http://members.home.nl/nahutec/kxtutor/kxtutor.html This is the most important guide to focus on. One ProFX Plugin you will have to load is the ADC ProFX Plugin, when you open it (by double clicking on it) set one side to mic and the other to Line in. However, each input will be mono. Click on the smaill icon to unlink the two channels, and selct Mic for one and Line In for the other. I suggest starting with a simple DSP like ADC, two SRC (set one to FXBus (ASIO) 0/1 and the other to FXBus (ASIO) 2/3), MX6, K2lt, and the ASIO plugin. Post back if you have problems you cant figure out.

I use my (Platinum) inputs on my A2ZS all the time with 3538h - and works great.
I even use the SPDIF in to decode AC3 from DVD/Digital Cable-Music Choice. |
