Problem with headphones Genius HP-5.1V on SB0162 with Kx3537

Hi.
Bought new headphones Genius HP-5.1V with 5.1 system support.
When plugging them to my Audigy the sound come out distorted as it was output through overdrive both in 5.1 and common mode. Using Kx 3537.
Any ideas? can this be because of Kx?

Maybe your sound card ouput volume is too high. Try lowering it.

I suggest you try these headphones on something else than the computer. Try some other sources (DVD player, TV, CD player, etc). You'll hear if there is distorsion with sources other than the computer. Try different volume settings on those source if they have some.

Already did it :)

Well i forgot to mention that it works fine with my onboard realtek in common mode, of course,
and tuning volume doesn't help. even on the lowest hearable volume i can hear distorted basses. Neither it's a problem with volume on headphones

was wrong

i beg a pardon
Lowering radically down both the master and the wave helps. (still hear some distortion, but with paying a great attention). i guess it's fine

Maddogg6 will become famous soon enoughMaddogg6 will become famous soon enough

Does it use digital or analog? I first assumed it took SPDIF - if its analog - how did you test with a MP3 player? Im only aware of STEREO not Surround??

SO - if you are using analog - there are 4 seperate VOLUME controls to be concerened with besides the MASTER vol. (FRONTS, REAR, CENTER, LFE)

OR do these heaphones take ONLY stereo and CONVERT to surround by themselves?

There are 2 ways of plugging them in. Through one stereo minijack or 3(as i understand in surround mode).
It's a simple cd-mp3 player, and they work fine with it but in stereo mode(through one minikack).
And they do buzz when they are plugged in surround mode. But lowering the master volume in kx does lower the noise, but it is still hearable.
