Simultaneous Analog and Digital output

Hello, I have an old sound blaster live 5.1 with kx drivers. I have used these drivers for some time using mostly combinations of analog signal outputs. I am now getting an external dvd player and would like to add a 5.1 home theater to it. What I want to do is keep one analog output for my current stereo system. I am able to get digital output OR analog with my card, but I have been playing with the settings and am unable to get BOTH at the same time.
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

You would need a digital IO extention bracket for that (those are around <20$).
If you wire them up correctly (crossing spdif3 with spdif1 on a standard IDE cable) you can get 3 analog stereo out together with 3 digital stereo out's on 1 live.

Thank you, I thought I might be able to do it software based instead of harware based. Do you know any on line store that has it for that price? I haven't been able to find it anywhere besides used on ebay, Thank you

any spdif bracket from anywhere, including a motherboard (that's what i'm using) will work as long as you connect the pins correctly

Ok I think since simplicity is the best way to go (and cheaper as well) I can do this. Hook up my receiver to the spdif output on my card with a stereo mono to rca cable and enable digital output only. Then connect my other speakers to the stereo output on the receiver. The only drawback here will be that the receiver will have to be on in order to use the stereo speakers. With this I should have both systems working, and maybe be able to have 5.1 for programs besides DVDs if the AC3 encode works correct?

Stupid me. I should have read jackmcdowell posts more carefully and noticed that he was talking about a sblive. It won't work because passthru does not work on emu10k1 cards.

Passthru not working on emu10k1 cards, is it specific to kX only? Does passthru work with the Creative driver?

Thank you for clearing that up. I was planning on using redocneXk but was unsure if it would work or not. I realize that being 2005 my soundcard is a bit outdated. At least I should get 5.1 for dvd and preencoded audio and stereo for games and mp3. Please let me know if there are other ways of doing this.
