it looks to be a 10k2 to me, but i can't be certain

if kX installs the drivers, then it's a 10k2 variant

If it's not, will the installation produce an error and show it's not compatible?

I don't want to buy the Audigy Value if it's not part of the regular Audigy Family (10k2 chipset right?) I've been trying desperately to find out.

Donīt buy the thing, it looks really downgraded: no Expansion port, no game port, no digital I/O - search for a real Audigy SB0090 or SB0092 or an Audigy2 ZS or ES!

on that same site, the Audigy SE hardware looks to be indentical, maybe different software package, or one is oem, other retail… odd

edit: from the pic: http://images.creative.com/iss/image...yValue_pdt.jpg

the chip ID is "ca0106-da i"

that sounds like a new revision 10k2 chip to me, the audigy SE also appears to have that same chip

I think CA0106 is an old chip from Audigy LS and SB Live24. Incompatibile with kX.

Audigy Value vs SB Live! 24-bit

By Audigy Value I mean this > http://www.asia.creative.com/product...&product=14189
What is the technical difference between the two? It's impossible to get this information from the Creative site so don't even try.
