I recently purchased a Logitech wireless mouse/keyboard combo. They work great, and when I first hooked them up everything appeared to be in order. Eventually, however, I noticed that my right speaker was no longer producing any audio! I checked out the sound/audio properties in win CP and clicked the volume icon. You know, where it normally says "Left" and "Right", with a slider for each? Instead of "Right", it said "Channel 2". I clicked the connect button on the mouse and it switched channels, and the slider went back to "Right". Still no sound though
![]() I've tried uninstalling the software that came with the mouse, and I've reinstalled kX. Has anyone ever heard of something like this happening? I am completely baffled. Also, if I can't fix my right speaker, can somebody walk me through how I would switch to mono mode (i.e. make the left speaker play both sides of the sound if you get what I mean)? |

this sounds like it's your speaker connection that's the problem, make sure the cable is secure at both ends and not damaged

Thanks for reply. Indeed, my subwoofer is kinda funny with the cable, but it's the port, not the cable. However, it worked before, as long as the cable was wiggled into the right position. After seeing "Right" change to "Channel 2", I'm certain there is some kind of connection with the mouse channel.
Anyways, I've pretty much given up hope on fixing it, so... Is there a way to make the left speaker play all the sound that is supposed to come out of the right speaker as well? |

What type of card do you have?
Are you using both the front and rear channels? To send both L/R to one speaker you can use a Mono Mix plugin. The specifcs would depend on your DSP configuration, but it is pretty simple. |

It's an SBLive Value, quite the piece of crap. I think my speakers register as rear channel. I had to click the "swap front/rear" thing. Mono Mix plugin you say? Thanks!

The reason I ask is because if you are not using one of the stereo outputs, and you think there is a problem with the jack on your sound card, then you can just use the other jack instead, and set the Swap Front and Rear option appropriately for which ever jack you are using, (or configure the DSP accordingly if it is the Center/Sub jack), etc.

Mm, I tried that but still no luck. I would settle for shifting it all over to the left speaker, but I can't seem to figure out how to use the Mono Mix plugin.

Then I would guess that it is not the jack on the sound card giving you the problem.
Connecting the Mono Mix plugin depends on your DSP configuration. Under the default setup: Find the Surrounder+ plugin. Disconnect the fL/fR connections out of Surrounder+ (the right side, hold the mouse cursor over the connectors and a tooltip will popup with the connection name), and connect them to the inputs of Mono Mix. Connect the outputs of Mono Mix to 'epilog''s Analog Front Left connection Open the tweak window for Mono Mix and set the levels for both channels to 50%. |

BTW: Have you tried plugging in headphones or another pair of speakers to see if the problem goes away?

OMFG THANK YOU! You'll never believe this, but the problem was not the connection, which worked fine, but that I had to go into Tweak and change the levels to 50% (they were at 0%).
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks again. Thank you SO much. <3 |

I am glad it works for you, but personally I would still try and figure out what the problem is, as I doubt that all of the line out jacks on your sound card are damaged.
