some details for the developers:
I'm not yet sure about the future compiler / driver environment. I will try to share my thoughts on this topic later. this is related to MSVC6, .NET/MFC7.x, opensource compilers and so on... -- by the way, note that kX Control no longer mirrors UART data, that's why one may need to go to "driver compatibility" window to enable full RemoteIR support -- E. |

guys! please, do NOT FLAME here! this thread will stay on top, please respect other users who might open it in the future, say, in May or June -- and instead of anything interesting would find just 'bad link' or 'it's 2 am here', ok?
![]() btw, it is 5:30 am here -- and so, what? ![]() E. |

Thanks Eugene.
I will be glad when 3538 is final, so Max M. can release the UFX package, and I hope kX development/improvement doesnt slow or die out before 3538 final is out! I will not argue in this thread. Going to install and check out this new release now.

So far so good.
My Sb022x card still works (rear channels, etc). I confirmed that the midi drums are working with the kX synths. The only issue I have noticed thus far is that the ProFx plugins are still the old ones.

Thanks!
Now that the Chinese language has been eventually merged into the released version, It seems that the installation file simply does license display, component selection, and file extraction, thus I am going to make a repacked translated Chinese version of the installation file too, and put it onto www.hanzify.org (a site that provides many Chinese localized software downloading). However, the interface of each DSP effects/plug-ins would not be translated due to the situation that the strings are neither in the language file nor the resource section of the kxl file and hacking into the kxl file would be very dangerous and time-consuming.

It may be just in my mind, but it seems audio is clearer, but subwoofer is weaker or maybe better quality as in tight bass, so it seems like weaker bass. Anyway, 3538j is staying installed. Now, back to the ProFX matter. It's a bummer cause I'm sure LeMury doesnt want to keep releasing ProFX releases for every driver release. That's one of the reasons I say "come on 3538 final!!!!!"

Nice work on this one. With 3538i my Audigy 2 Platinum didn't even work at all. Just some nasty noise came out. Everything seems to be in order with this one. It's sad a company the size of Cr**tive can't make drivers as good as these. Well, not really. they probably could if they cared. Thanks for making me not have to buy a different soundcard.

Ill interject that my ASIO performance improved from h/i to j - from 5.33 ms possible to 2.67ms - no clicks / pops.
Same (non-optimized - HT P4) system & same soft synth. edit: Additionally - SPDIF (front panel) sounds better as well, lower volume, but seems clearer now. - previously with 3538H , excessive input level would cause a 'squeal' - not so in 3538J now. Thanks Eugene. Last edited by Maddogg6; Feb 6, 2006 at 02:24 AM. |

ProFX: I haven't received updated sources from LeMury yet
UFX: I don't have the sources at all. please ask Max either to recompile or to forward his sources to me "Sb022x card still works (rear channels, etc). " -- does this mean it no longer requires any custom DSP microcode / tweaks / etc? Is it stable if you enter standby/hibernate? wmjordan: I got your e-mail. will reply you soon (with the script file attached) E. |

As for standby / hibernation problems, I have not tested that, as I personally do not use those power management features. |

From this version on, the Aux In doesn't have the noise problem anymore! (Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro)
Recording from my hardware synth is feasible now, thanks Eugene!

I did some basic testing with standy and hibernation and did not have any problems (I even tried both while in the middle of playing an .mp3 and it seemed to be fine). It would probably be better to hear from other SB022x users, that use these features more often, but I did not have any problems thus far.

Maybe seperate threads of 'requested test' could be 'stickied' and users could report their findings..???
ex: Subject: SB022x - Hibernated test req. Just a thought... |

Another great release Eugene
Now SB0240 finally works again, great ![]() But there are some bugs: - When "Show Window Content While Dragging" is disabled, the right-click context menu in the DSP doesn't work.Same as with 3538i - The Speaker settings after installation of 3538j are set to 7.1 Home Theater(after a first-time install on a fresh XP),with 3538h/i they were correctly set to 5.1 surround. But 3538j also sets it to stereo speakers instead of 5.1 surround if you previously uninstall an older driver (3538h/i),even when cleaning everything with Driver Cleaner Pro before install. - AC97 source is set to Stereo Mix again...should be Line In by default. - The "new" Plugins included are very old... other than that, they work great, just like 3538i with the 3538h kx.sys Questions: 1. Is it possible to make the kX drivers to not depend on DEBUG .dlls but use standard dlls included in Windows XP? Why are debug libs needed? 2. Can you post a list of all files other than those installed in the kX Audio Driver folder in the Program Files folder, because only half of the files which are installed go there or do you know of any program that can extract Nullsoft PIMP/NSIS installers so I can see it for myself? What files do those CodeMax libs consist of? Are they needed for functionality of the base driver,or just for the kX Mixer? |

There does still appear to be some issues with SB022x models (models with STAC9758 anyway) regarding the digital outputs.
I posted info about this in the 'sb22x - no rear and/or center/lfe output' thread (beginning with post #92). Sorry I did not test this sooner, but I do not have a digital speaker setup (or receiver), and did not think of testing this using 'CD_SPDIF In' previously. -Russ |

I tested 3538j with audigy 2 zs nb (notebook):
- the pcmcia card is recognized of the installtion tool; - but the System freezes while installing; - after rebooting drivers seem to be installed, but I get only (a clear, good quality) output on the optical/phones out, not on the multi-jack; any1 experieced something similar and has a fix for that? Thanks |

I believe those options are only shown for Audigy 2 cards (which I do not have, so I do not see them.). Also, I think they are only available in 'Surrounder+' and not 'Surrounder'. |

Well I cannot confirm it, as I do not have an A2 card, but someone else should be able to do so, in which case, you should probably post it in the 3538j Bug thread.
