Remove kx keys from registry?
Hi,
(Win98SE, SBLive Value CT4780) After trying to install kx last weekend without any luck, I'm now trying to remove all traces of it from my PC. I had installed and uninstalled 3537 full, 3534f full, and 3537 update several times, and now, though there are no signs of kx in the device manager or under multimedia properties, a search of my registry for the string "kx" turns up several entries. By poking around nearby, I found other entries that do not contain the "kx" string but I suspect are also kx-specific because they have names like "wave 4/5", which I don't think would be consistent with the Creative drivers. I am reluctant to delete these because I don't know for sure what they are. It seems the only way to remove everything kx added to the registry would be to get a list of all the keys kx adds or modifies and go through the registry one item at a time. Can anyone provide me with such a list? I should add that I have used RegCleaner and kx does not appear in any of it's lists of cleanable keys. Also, kx left behind something that shows up as a VST synth in my Traction plugins list. I suppose there may be kx dll's scattered around too. I probably need a list of files to look for too, if anyone can help me with that. I need to get rid of any trace of the kx drivers. Then maybe I can try to get rid of any trace of the creative drivers, at which point I may try to install 3537 again. Thanks for your help, Eric |

Try DRIVER CLEANER PRO (make sure it works in Win98SE tho first) - from DRIVER HEAVEN - to remove old traces of CL and KX drivers.
Follow its instructions - For WinXP its recommended running it in safe mode - but I dont know about Win98SE... |
