cubase connecting inputs
I have just installed KX 3.527 for my Soundblaster Live Platinum 5.1, mostly to fix audio/MIDI input latency and unreliable audio input for use with Cubase.
Excellent, the latency is down, MIDI is great but I am having problems with audio. I can hear all of the inputs and control them with the mixer. I can also record using the windows sound recorder (though the result is strangely noisey). However I no longer know how to connect to the card input ports though Cubase SX. I go to devices>VST Connections and add an audio port, under "audio device" I have "kx ASIO" but under "Device Port" the options are not at all clear. All of the ports have names like "1 kX In 00", "2 kX In 01" etc. up to "16 kX In 15". none of them however seem to give me connection to the cards ports. Can anyone help? |

Read "How to setup DSP" aloud twice.

Do you mean the kX DSP section of the HTML help that can be accessed though the kX mixer?
I don't have time to read it properly right now. I will read it thoughroughly later, however I have scanned it and on the basis of that had a a look at the 'prolog' DSP module, finding that In8 and In9 refer to the inputs i want. Connected "9 kX In 08" and "9 kX In 09" in cubase and I get no joy. No sound though any of the channels. As I say I will read the instructions properly in a bit. If that is not what you intended by "How to setup DSP", please let me know. Thanks |

Ditto to above, after scanning most of the how to's on setting it up it wasnt until i actually read it and went thru step by step that i got the best results (im not a sit down and read it.. I prefer to jump in and break it till i worlk out how to fix it person)
anyway if you are meaning you want to add a physical input of the card to say an asio or mixer in? In the DSP screen >>Profx>> add a SCR>> then select to source you want and map that to an input cubase can see. might be worth going thro a mixer or a gain box too so you can tweak the volume if u need
