Firefox not ending task when browser is closed...

Firefox lately hasn't been completely shutting down when I close the browser.

Anyone else noticed this behavior lately?

Re: Firefox not ending task when browser is closed...

Nope, my guess is some of your extensions is the problem. Try opening Firefox in it's "safe mode" with extensions disabled and see if it still does that.

Interesting development: When I went to check the version via Help/About... it started an update. It was 15.0.1.3..

Now it's 16.0.1

And, it did take a few moments to end task after I closed to restart Firefox. But, after maybe 30 sec. I was able to open a new instance.

Will monitor this to see what happens.

This is what was happening if I tried to start too soon after closing the prior session...

Re: Firefox not ending task when browser is closed...

Mozill had published a notice a few days ago now to divert back to a older version prior to v16 due to a security issue,And what for Firefox to be patched.

Re: Firefox not ending task when browser is closed...

16.0.1 has that issue sorted. So I don't see any problem using newest one.

That is what was happening to me, too. In Task Manager it was showing an instance of firefox*32. It would not allow me to end task on it.

The update to 16 seems to have fixed the problems.
