Nice
huh, well not so fast
..

First we need to set more options
Well
you want to get the most out of it J
Go
to
options|set thumbnail options

Use Resample: will
give you the best quality thumbnails
for
a little price; i.e. time (depending on the power of your PC)
Size of Thumbnails depends
on what images/personal taste
Stretch small images: useful
for giving all thumbs the same size,
Looks better that way
Paint thumbnail borders: to
give a photo slide like look to the thumbs
with
borders:

without: (in
combination with
thumbnail background color)

Also
note the mrud’s
choice; very useful when switching
directory’s a lot.
The
rest is pretty much self explanatory.
On with the real business. J
Here, under File, you
find all the things you can do with a thumbnail (that are in irfanview)

Copy/Move/Delete
If
you have set a default copy/move to directory,
just
click on a thumbnail and press [F7] (copy)
or [F8] (move) or
the Delete
[Del] button on your keyboard to delete the
image
and
it (the image) will magically copy itself to your preferred folder.
If you want several images at once; there are two way’s:
click on the first thumbnail, hold down CTRL and
click on the images you need
(keep CTRL pressed)
until
you are satisfied with your Selections, then press [F7]/[F8] or [Del]
or
use the mouse by dragging the mouse cursor over the desired images and then
pressing [F7]/[F8] or [Del]

and
the easy way is:
drag
& drop
Place the mouse on the desired image
click & hold mouse button and drag it to the desired folder

We
will discuss slideshow in a separate part
in this tutorial.
tip:
as you can see sometimes it is better not to use the paint thumbnail border
An image;
Result:

As single image;
As HTML
file, useful
if you use a website
open with external editor
to
use direct link to a paint program like Photoshop
i.e.
