Anyone else hate RealPlayer?

Man, I despise this particular app about as much as anything related to the computer. I had held off downloading it and finally relented in order to get the Super Bowl Ads. (Yeah...ok, I know...very poor reason.)

Anyway, how many others detest this one as much (or more) than I do?

It's a VERY annoying piece-o-software as I remember, I've been avoiding it a loooong time now. Hell, I even prefer M$ media over "real"!

Nope don't use it. WMP9 and Quicktime(whatever version it's up to) serve all my needs just fine. RaelPlayer just never figures into the mix.

RealOne Player isn't all that bad once you disable all the "features" like in WMP9. Once it's all disabled, it'll start up quick (w/o that start center crap, but not as fast as WMP 6.4) and can play nearly every kind of file, even QuickTime mp4's, DivX avi's and even midi's(to a degree). I really like using the Helix Producer tool since it can make RealVideo9 files from just about any other kind of file extremely easily and at a substantial byte size savings (I can compress 700mb mpeg's/avi's into ~175-200mb .rm files, depending on their length in time, without any real noticable loss in image or sound quality - even with surround sound!) That and they have installs for nearly all OS types, ie. it works on Mac, *nix, etc.

I'm not trying to sway people, but since you can configure these programs and disable the useless features, it becomes better.... kinda like Windows
