HTTP Tunnelling

There is a technique to run protocols (AIM, FTP, etc.) through HTTP called HTTP tunnelling. Anybody have any experience with this? What software works?

Any information would be appreciated.

What if, say, I knew very little about networking...? Could you help me out here, Nec'?

one word : SOCKS2HTTP
check it out here http://www.totalrc.net

This is what I used on my University LAN when I was in residence.
They had bandwidth limited a whole slew of ports/protocols including ones used by napster etc.
This solved my problems really easily (from 0.1 kbps -> 90 kbps )
Their FAQ is rather extensive and they have lots of application specific setup help
Share the knowledge wisely.

I might have to use it sometime, hehe, they keep blocking ports at times.
